View Full Version : brewpubs in north georgia?

i'm going to be in north georgia for a bike race and was looking for some good brewpubs. i may be dealing with a lot of dry counties being as it's the bible belt. any good beer recommendations for bicycle racing? sierra nevada?

Helen, GA is one of the few mecca's in an otherwise dry area. There are some neat German style bars (can't miss 'em). There are also alot of good package stores that sell an eclectic assortment of beer. All 6% abv or less until june first though. Other than that, I don't really know of any. Good luck and enjoy the scenery.

isn't that a stupid rule? why june 1st? thanks for the info about helen. i plan on riding some myself and helen is a biking mecca also.

GA just passed a law that allows the higher beers but it wont go into effect until June 1st. Lots of hilly, windy roads in Helen. Beautiful!
