I've been ordering everything from northernbrewer.com...delivery has been quick, and the prices seem resonable.

I was just going to prime my first batch with plain old cane sugar, though. Is that not a good idea?

Corn sugar is better in your beer if you are using it for a portion of the fermentables. IMHO, it probably won't make any real difference if you use it just for priming.

Some brewers are purists, and won't put sugar into thier beer for any reason. They use DME for priming.

I have never seen corn sugar outside a homebrew shop (in over 23 years of brewing).

so you're saying that using regular sugar does the same as corn sugar? there wont be any taste difference?

    That's right.
Use a little less table sugar, though.
Table sugar is slightly more fermentable, so you will only need 2/3 cup instead of 3/4 cup.

I read somewhere that some health food stores carry corn sugar but under a different name, might call one up and see if they have it. Had the same problem couple weeks ago trying to find corn sugar.

20 meters? You have a shop next door and didn't know it?
