Would you drink nothing else forever? Or are you happier knowing that you have so many choices? Point being, what's the use in calling one beer the best?

Life is too short to drink bad beer.
There can be no best beer in the world. Any beer will excel in the right situation and totally suck in another situation. Even Miller High Life cans taste good on the deck of a fishing boat in the Gulf of Mexico, but nowhere else that I can think of. And your tastes will evolve-what tastes incredibly great today will probably not be what tastes great in a couple of years.
How's that Ruination taste with a plate of nachos, lasagna, or a medium rare leg of lamb?
I like to have about a dozen or so "best beer in the world" and keep as many as possible on hand when their ideal situation comes around. Orval is an amazing beer, but certainly not something I would drink all the time(if I could find and afford it) so I need a wide variety of great beers on hand.
It's always time for a beer

I like to think that the next beer I drink "might" be the best in the world. It's an elusive chase, but an enjoyable one.

Sometimes the best Beer in the world is the one that you can't get. I know a few brewers that market based on this principal.

Isn't that strange, that on a boat:
1) It's ok, to drink a beer out of a can or bottle
2) Any beer tastes great.
I guess you can't taste beer while drinking it from a bottle.

You're active out in the sun, loosing water and burning up energy. Something wet with carbohydrates is quite appropriate. Yes, I'll have another thank you.Originally Posted by BruceKey

Like the others, is...
dependent on what I'm eating, what I'm doing, where I'm at. Am I at the brewery, drinking it from the tap, from the bottle, from the bottle having been on the shelf awhile. Did I pay a mint for it, was it free (I'm more tolerant-though it can still be bad). Am I sitting back anticipating its enjoyment or am I caught up in the middle of an activity.
Am I...
