I couldn't say that. My first batch was good by my standards at the time, and much better than most of what could be bought in South TX in 1984, but not what I would consider good, or even consider a second pint of today.

Right now? Sublimely Self-Righteous from Stone. Followed closely by their 2008 Imperial Russian Stout.

I think for me it was the fact that it was my first attempt at brewing and that it came out nicely drinkable that that makes it stand out in my memory.

Hands down, sharing a Sam Adams Summer Ale with my GF the night I got out of prison.

Interesting that Firebrick is not on the list?

Yep, you did say that you WERE the puppy. On the left I believe. Now if you were the one on the right...

Very recently had an Islay Ale's Nerabus Ale in Taiwan. They don't export to the US or Canada, and their other beers that I could find there (didn't get to try the dry stout) were decent but not exceptional, but I don't think I've ever had a 5% ABV that had more interesting wonderful flavors giving my taste buds a wild ride.
On deck: a clone of Carolina Beer Co's Rye Stout, clone of Breckenridge's Vanilla Porter,
    Primary: Schwarzbier
    Secondary: Dortmunder, Hopweizen
Keg Conditioning: Dunkelweizen, Roggenbier, Okto, Ord. Bitter
On tap: Alt, Hefeweizen, Cigar City Maduro clone, Mild
Bottled: Mead, Quad Rajet, Granola Bar Braggot

Too much of everything is just enough.
