    Carboy brush scratched glass?

I was cleaning one of my carboys with anew brush, and I'd swear the the brush scratched the shit out of the inside of the carboy...this is a first for me.

Anyone know if these really are scrartches, or if this is some sort of residue, and how it comes off....

My carboy brush leaves what looks like metal scrapes/scratches on the neck of the carboy. Their kinda grey if you will. I don't bother with them and it hasn't caused a problem yet but it's on the neck that doesn't really come in too much contact with the beer.

My bottle brush does the same thing to the tops of my bottles. Its the twisted metal on the brush that does it. It's a bad design. Someone should make brushes with a plastic core and solve this problem.
