    Shipping beer?

I will be flying up north for a few weeks and I have a few sick puppies that want to try some of my homebrew. Im not bad at shipping packages but I have never shipped bottles of beer. I am worried about temps, and of course breakage?
Whats the general concensus when it comes to this idea?
( I have heard ramblings of it's legality, but if they don't ask, I won't tell.)

Make sure they are packaged very well, DO NOT ship though the post office, FED Ex or UPS only. If need be Mark the package "Live Yeast Sample".
The mind is like a beer, it does the most good when it is opened.
