Columbia Gorge Wine & Pear Festival
3rd Annual Celebration in Hood River
Wine Tastings, Fresh Fruit, Local Artisans, Live Music, & More
When driving along the 84, objects in your rearview mirror may be closer than they appear. But if peering through your windshield you see a pear, that just means you must've grabbed today's deal: admission for two to the Columbia Gorge Wine & Pear Festival, held May 18 and 19. This annual celebration features 19 Gorge wineries, local artists, live music, nibbles from several of the area's top chefs, and offerings from local breweries. Pair it all with bites of the region's famously tasty pears and wine's classic pal, cheese. Then, while away the rest of your afternoon at the museum, which boasts one of the country's largest collections of still-operational antique planes and cars. A percentage of proceeds goes to the Rotary Club of Hood River's Scholarship Program -- a philanthropic finish that's sure to go down smooth.
