SD Toronado sez ... Lots of great beer this weekend
A lot going on in town, and we have enough Pliny to help you deal...
And beer for a great cause at O'Brien's on Saturday. We know this is a crazy weekend in SD, what with the first weekend at Del Mar, Comic Con, and baseball revving back up, but we are here to provide a cool oasis in the midst of it all. As we mentioned above, we're absolutely swimming in Pliny the Elder (a nice problem to have) at the moment and we've also got a ton of Alpine and Societe beers that should be gracing our taps this weekend, so come out and have some.

Also we wanted to let you know that our friends at O'Brien's are hosting a benefit for brewer and all-around nice guy Brit Antram tomorrow at the pub in Kearny Mesa. You can get all the info here :

Yes, we made an error regarding the Brit Antrim benefit at O'brien's; it is this coming Saturday and we'll talk more about that below. In the meantime, tonight is Steak Night, and we're serving up a cask of Stone Pale Ale with Citra hops for the nice price of just $3 a pint, plus an IPA or two today from a certain small brewery located in an unincorporated area in eastern San Diego County. Come check it out.

Tomorrow at 6pm we'll have six beers from Societe Brewing on tap. It's hard to believe that the good folks at Societe just celebrated their first anniversary... it seems to us like they've been providing the San Diego area with their fine beers for longer than that. In any event, we're happy to be pouring The Widow, The Madam, The Pupil, The Publican, (that's veering strangely close to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TPMS6tGOACo), The Apprentice, and The Roustabout. We've also got about a dozen or so Societe glasses that you can take home with you, on a first-come, first-served basis.

As we mentioned earlier, we were in error regarding the benefit that our friends at O'Brien's Pub are holding for San Diegan Brit Antrim. It is this Saturday, not last weekend... We'll be there, we hope some of you can make it as well.

We'll leave you with this bit of fun sent to us by Cousin Dave (who is always reading).
