    Shoreline’s famous Summer Brew Cruises return with exciting new features! First up, Shoreline will partner with award-winning Rock Bottom Brewery for all 2013 Brew Cruises; featuring generous samplings of Rock Bottom’s best brews!
    Dedicated Brewmaster’s Station located topside and staffed by Rock Bottom Brewmasters. Cruise guests will be able to sample an additional “brewmaster’s choice” beer and talk one-on-one with the brewing expert!
    Delicious appetizers from Rock Bottom’s acclaimed kitchens, specially chosen to compliment the evening’s beer selections.

    What should the new Drewrys Beer taste like?
    At the 1st Taste of Drewrys, you get to vote. There will be samples of premium lager, original recipe, and a brewer's special on hand for voting. Drink as many as you need to make an informed decision, compliments of South Bend's favorite, Drewrys Brewery.
    Full glasses of the tasty brew will also be available for purchase, and that's not all!

    Drewrys is primed and ready to go. But this is your beer, and we want your input. We'll have at least three varieties available for sampling. We know you'll love each and every one, but we'd love to hear what you have to say about your favorites.
    We've planned an awesome party for our fans and supporters as a way of saying "Thank you" to those who have cheered us on ever since we announced the Drewrys Revival at South Bend's Brewfest in January.
    We will also have on hand for purchase the first copies of the commemorative book "Drewrys Extra Dry: A Look Back at all the Fun", which takes a close look at Drewrys' fascinating history, hot off the press.

    Hopstring Fest is the brainchild of Mike and Kathy Trizna (Owners of Chicago Street Pub). The festival is a 12-hour celebration of Midwestern Craft Beer, and Roots Rock Music.
    During the festival people will be able to experience an amazing cross section of the many styles of beer from around the world… Brewed right in their own backyard. While they are sampling some of these beers, they will also have the opportunity to taste the local wares from several Joliet restaurants.
    Oh yeah, don’t forget about the music. This lineup is easily the best Illinois has to offer.

    Get ready for the 6th Annual Binny's Homebrew Contest sponsored by Samuel Adams. This year the contest will be held at Binny's in Downers Grove on Saturday, August 24th. There is no charge to enter the contest. There will be a beer tasting during the event featuring many delicious beers from the Boston Brewery, and we will have complimentary food for everyone to enjoy.
    Our 1st place finisher will win a trip for two to the Great American Beer Fest that includes tickets, airfare, and hotel. Several runners up will win valuable prizes. There will also be a worthy prize for best label, though labels aren't required. All participating homebrewers will receive beer evaluation sheets with judges' comments.
    The Rules

    Each household may only enter one beer
    Entrants must drop off two 12oz bottles or one 22oz bottle of their beer at Binny's in Downers Grove on Thursday 8/22 or Friday 8/23, along with your entry form rubber banded around your beer. Click here for an entry form.
    Entries will be limited to the first 50 beers submitted. We expect the spots to fill up very fast, probably by mid day Thursday. When the contest fills up, we will announce it on our twitter feed.
    You must be present at the store no later than 1:00pm on Saturday, August 24th to claim your prize and tasting evaluation sheet from the judges.

    The Midwest Brewers Fest is an annual outdoor festival celebrating craft beer and the art of brewing. The MWBF is held at Plainfield Riverfront Park, along the scenic DuPage River in downtown Plainfield. The event is organized by the non-profit Midwest Brewers Fest Inc., and is 100-percent volunteer run with all proceeds being donated to charity. The primary benefactor is the Plainfield Riverfront Foundation, with funds donated to help restore the Plainfield Riverfront Park that hosts the Fest. The Midwest Brewers Fest is also committed to supporting Pints for Prostates.

"Woody," a gargantuan barrel on wheels, will roll up to the Gold Coast restaurant's spacious State Street patio at 12 p.m. Cedar Hotel's featured bottled brews for the day will be: Mirror Pond Pale Ale; Chainbreaker White IPA; and Inversion IPA for $6 each.     In addition we will be offering some other fantastic beers from Great Lakes!
    As with all Roof Deck events this event is weather dependent.
