SD Toronado - Meet the Author
California Brewmasters Book
Come out and meet author Nick Gingold at the bar tonight at 6pm
We thought it would be a good idea to introduce you to Nick. He's in the "crunch-time" period of a Kickstarter campaign to get the funding for a new coffee table book about the brewers of California.

We think the project is pretty cool, and we want one of those California bottle opener keychains, so we're "kicking" down a portion of the sales tonight to help Nick out. If you can't make it tonight, he'll be at Urge Gastropub tomorrow night, and at Tiger! Tiger! on Thursday. He's also doing a ShinDig at AleSmith on Thursday the 13th from 5-8pm.
Of course, we recommend coming here tonight, so you can be among the first to try Stone's excellent new "Go To" session IPA on draft & cask! Also on hand will be a keg of Alpine's incredible Keene Idea IPA, kegs of The Pupil & The Bachelor made with Amarillo hops from Societe, plus 6(?) beers from Almanac (with more to follow tomorrow; see more on that below) and other awesome beers like Sea Monster, nitro Sextant oatmeal stout, and Sculpin nitro and Co2 from Ballast Point; Port OB's Bacon & Eggs; Speedway Stout from AleSmith, and there is still a bit of Sucaba & Winter Wookie from Firestone Walker as of this morning too. And did we mention it's Steak Night? A great night (and day) to be at the bar... We'll see you here.
We've been hoarding kegs. Yes we admit it. Wednesday night we'll have at least 8 draft beers (and possibly more; hoarders are by their nature disorganized) from SF's highly regarded Almanac Beer Company. The confirmed attendees are Golden Gate Gose, Biere de Chocolat, Heirloom Pumpkin Barleywine, Brandy Barrel Peche, Sourdough Wild Ale, Valley of the Heart's Delight, Bourbon Sour Porter, and their IPA. Possible attendees could include one or more of the following: Chipotle Smoked Stout, Dogpatch Sour #1, and Barrel Noir. We will know after we finish digging out. When we have this many great beers on draft the kegs tend to last a couple of days, so don't forget about Thursday either...
Lastly, our own Eric Shelley had some outstanding results at the recently held America's Finest City Home Brew Competition, taking Gold in both the Ameican Pale Ale and Double IPA categories, Silver in English Pale Ale, and Bronze in the IPA category. Pretty phenomenal results in some pretty tough categories. Tell him "Nice job" when you see him. The full results here:
