Tulsa Craft Beer Week announces events this week, so plan your vacation time. This looks to be a busy week in the Oklahoma beer world.
April 10: This year's Craft Beer Week has plenty of opportunities to try some amazing beers, as well as amazing foods. The kickoff starts with a local tap takeover at R Bar, 3421 S. Peoria Ave., at 5 p.m. The list will be announced soon.
April 11: McNellie's South City, 7031 S. Zurich Ave., will host a Dead Armadillo "Pilot Night." These will be never-before-released brews just for Craft Beer Week.
April 12: A cigar/beer pairing event. Details to come.
April 13: This one looks like a great way to try some new-to-Oklahoma beers, and chef Trey Winkle will have a brunch pairing with beers from world-renowned Founder Brewing Company, "Brunch with Founders," at R Bar at 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
April 14: Prairie Artisan Ales will host a "Pint Night" at McNellie's South City.
April 15: Founders Brewing Company will have a "Pint Night" at R Bar, starting at 6 p.m. Also McNellie's South City will host a Marshall Brewing Company Rare Beer dinner. It's a ticketed event, so seating is limited.
April 16: Choc will be served during the "Gentlemen's Lunch" (I am sure ladies are invited, too) at McNellie's downtown, 409 E. First St., at 11 a.m.-2 p.m. A lunch paired with a Choc Firkin.
April 17: "Founders Day" at McNellie's Downtown at 5 p.m., and then you can go south to McNellie's South City and enjoy a "Founder's Beer Dinner" starting at 7 p.m.
April 18: R Bar will host a Firkin Friday at 6-10 p.m. This will be a ticketed event.
April 19: Tulsa Craft Beer beer tasting at the Biergarten in Jenks, 807 E. A St. I attended the event last year, and it was excellent. A ton of great breweries represented, as well as great beers. The plus is you can buy what you drink at the Biergarten!
April 20: An 18-hole, two-player golf scramble and beer tasting at Page Belcher Golf Course, 6666 S. Union Ave., along with a beer tasting. Last year's event sold out with 120 players. This year it has expanded to a cap of 144 players.
