Watch 21st Amendment break ground on its new San Leandro mega-brewery headquarters
Back in February, 21st Amendment announced that it will be opening a huge brewery, corporate headquarters, restaurant, beer garden, and well, campus in San Leandro. It’s a very big deal for San Leandro.
The new brewery is situated in the former Kellogg plant where Eggo’s and Pop Tarts were once made, and the 95,000 square foot project will be designed by San Francisco-based Aidlin Darling Design (Bar Agricole, Wexler’s, Monsieur Benjamin et al.).
This summer, 21st Amendment owners Nico Freccia and Shaun O’Sullivan finally broke ground on their massive undertaking — and they brought a bunch of East Bay bigwigs and politicians, including San Leandro Mayor Stephen Cassidy, along for the ride. The 21st Amendment guys are still vowing to have the beer flowing by the end of 2014.
