27th Annual Oregon Brewer's Festival has a moist opening (and not the good kind)
Oregon Brewers Festival Parade Marchers endured a refreshing summer downpour for the first time in OBF Parade history yesterday.
It was a bit of a slog but nothing that could deter true Norwesters gathered at Green Dragon and Lucky Lab for the 2 mile or so police escorted march to the fest grounds at Waterfront park. Pictures and more to follow later today when I've dried out...uh...everything.
The tapping of the festival cask of Super Duper Dog was without incident (no broken hammers this year) under the sure hand of Rogue's Brewmaster John Maier.
A moment of silence was shared for the recent loss of craft brewing pioneer Jack Joyce and the recent victims of the airline crash in Ukraine.
The Super Duper Dog is aptly described as " A 12 barrel batch of super dog squeezed into a 7 barrel batch and twice the yum. ABV: 8.0% IBUs: 100+ (And it was quite delicious)
