The Bacon and Beer Classic is coming to Denver on April 16, celebrating craft beer and local restaurants at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.

Styled as a three-hour bash, the event will feature unlimited pours of craft beer from more than 125 regional breweries, plus 50-odd original bacon-infused dishes from area restaurants.

Participants include Burnt End BBQ, Kline's Beer Hall, Bad Daddy's Burger Bar, The Pint Room and Vesta Dipping Grill.

Yes, there will be a bacon-eating contest for folks wanting to get their swine on.

The Bacon and Beer Classic was launched at Seattle's Safeco Field in May 2014. Denver will be the eighth city to host the rain-or-shine event.

General admission tickets go for $59, while VIP tickets, allowing for a one-hour head start on the field of imbibers, go for $99. There will be two general-admission sessions 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are available through ticketmaster.com.

The event is produced by Cannonball Productions in New York.
