    KLCC Homebrew Competition
Sign Up for Competition or Judging

The 2017 KLCC Microbrew Fest Homebrew Competition is rapidly coming upon us! The festival is Feb 10 & 11th this year, and the deadline for submitting beers to the homebrew competition is Monday, January 30th.

Judging will be held on February 4, from 9am to 5pm-ish at Ninkasi Admin Building (155 Blair Blvd, Eugene, OR). There are 4 sessions for judging.

The competition will again be judged using the 2015 BJCP Style Guidelines (http://bjcp.org/stylecenter.php). Please take some time to review the style guidelines, as there are many styles and significant changes in the organization of styles compared to older revisions of the style guidelines. We are using the reggiebeer.com website to manage the competition this year. It is a web-based software that will greatly speed up the report of results to entrants and the crediting of points for judges.

Click here to register for judging and/or entering the competition

If you have ever used Reggie before, just enter in your name and it will automatically pull up all your details and BJCP number if you have one. If not, then setting up a new account is very easy and it will save your info for any future competitions that you enter and/or judge.

Gigantic is teaming up again with Jaret & Mona from Tournant to bring you Oyster Social Sunday’s! We’ll kick things off on Sunday January 29th with the release of Nevørmind Oyster Stout. We traveled to the cold, salty waters of Netarts Bay to source the oysters for our roasty, briney Oyster Stout from Nevør Shellfish Farm. Into the boil we put 12 dozen oysters and 45 liters of oyster “liquor”. The beer is roasty and chocolatey, with subtle mineral and briney notes. It pairs perfect with fresh oysters on the half shell, shucked to order from Tournant.
And because who doesn’t love fresh oysters and mimosas, we thought we’d keep the shucking and jiving going throught the entire month of February! So grab your brunch buddies and come on into the taproom and enjoy fresh oysters, champgane, and of course beer!
