Beer in 19th Century California - types and measures
Dear Beer enthusiasts
I am a novelist writing a historic suspense trilogy set in CA in 1868. I am having trouble finding what types and measures of beer my characters would be drinking in mining towns in those years... What is the correct terminology - was it a pint, a handle or what? Grateful for any input or suggestions for reference sources... I see Coors was already operating in Colorado and there was a thing called California steam beer but that is as much as I can find at present... Many thanks Jenny Wheeler
