    www.MonthlyClubs.com

Lake Forest, Calif. (May 22, 2017) –The Rare Beer Club® is collaborating with Pints for Prostates and Yazoo Brewing Company, located in Nashville, TN, to create a sour Belgian Golden Strong Ale aged in Merlot French oak exclusively for members of the club to benefit the Pints for Prostates campaign. The beer will be named exclusively by the public and the contest winner will receive a 6-month, 2-bottle membership to The Rare Beer Club.
Rare Beer Club owner Kris Calef commented, "We're really excited about this beer. It's been spiked with over 12 different brettanomyces and Yazoo's house souring bacteria. It going to undergo a secondary fruit fermentation with a combination of Cherries and Cranberries. Brandon Jones, head of Yazoo's sour and wild beer production, recently told me the base beer is showing characteristics of white pepper, dark fruit, leather and bright lemon lime."
The limited edition label will feature the Pints for Prostates logo, which includes the blue ribbon to remind people of the ongoing search for a cure to prostate cancer, a leading cause of death among American men. "The annual release of a special beer through The Rare Beer Club helps us to connect with guys and urge them to take charge of their health by getting screened for prostate cancer," said Rick Lyke, a prostate cancer survivor who founded Pints for Prostates after successful prostate cancer surgery in April 2008.

    About Yazoo Brewing Co.
Yazoo's grass roots began in 1993 with a homebrewing kit bought from the back pages of Rolling Stone in 1993. In October 2003, they officially opened their doors and began selling kegs of Yazoo Pale Ale, Dos Perros, Spring Wheat, and Onward Stout to local bars and restaurants, quickly gaining an enthusiastic local following. After six years, they outgrew their original brewery, and in 2010 moved into a bigger space and installed a 40 barrel brewhouse. In 2012 Linus Hall and Brandon Jones teamed up to create Tennessee's first dedicated wild and sour program named "Embrace The Funk". Yazoo beer can now be found in most of Tennessee & Mississippi. Rare Beer Club® Jolly Pumpkin Beer Naming Contest

Rare Beer Club® to Hold Second Beer Naming Contest with Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales

Lake Forest, Calif. (June 23, 2017) –The Rare Beer Club® is collaborating with Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales, located in Dexter, Mich., to create a Blackberry Pumpkin Saison brewed exclusively for members of the club.
"We're 23 years into this business and this is now our 6th Jolly Pumpkin exclusive beer created solely for our members. Every beer we've ever run from the brewery, exclusive or not, has always been really well received and when Ron suggested a pumpkin addition as part of a beer featured in October, the decision to run with it was pretty easy," said Kris Calef, owner of The Rare Beer Club.
The beer will be featured in the club's October 2017 shipment and will be named exclusively by the public. Rare Beer Club members and non-members can submit names for the beer on the official contest page .
The beer is a 7.0% saison that's been aged for 7 months in oak foeders which will contribute spice, and sour fruit notes developed through barrel aging and naturally occurring Brettanomyces yeast and Lactobacillus bacteria. Perle, Vanguard and Southern Cross hops were used along with pilsner malts and spelt to make the beer. A pumpkin and blackberry puree was added to the oak foeders 3 months into their resting period.
Contestants are encouraged to check out the brewery's beer selection to note the current voice and naming conventions used by the brewery.
