Brewsday Tuesday: Parleaux Beer Lab's grand opening and new beers

Parleaux Beer Lab (634 Lesseps St., 504-702-8433) holds its grand opening party 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. June 3. There will be live music, food trucks and 12 beers on tap, including a few introduced during American Craft Beer Week. The brewery made two special brews just for the occasion: a 100 percent Brettanomyces-fermented stout aged with raspberries and cherries and a summer gose beer brewed with ginger, lime peel, Himalayan pink salt and coriander.

• Boucherie teams up with local homebrew club Crescent City Homebrewers Wednesday, June 14 for a five-course beer pairing dinner at the restaurant’s private event space at 8115 Jeannette St. The menu is still being determined, and the estimated cost is $50. For details, contact Mike Malley at

• A few new local beers have hit the market, including NOLA Brewing Company’s (3001 Tchoupitoulas St, 504-896-9996) latest year-round IPA, Syncopation, a hazy, hop-forward beer made with Citra, Mosaic, Grungeist, Calypso and Ekuanot hops for a fresh citrus- and tropical fruit-forward aroma and taste. Syncopation is a year-round offering, but it will be brewed in limited quantities every other month or so, and its availability will vary.

NOLA Brewing’s Hurricane Saison has returned for the summer. This year, it has an added burst of flavor from being dry-hopped with Mosaic hops.

• Gnarly Barley Brewing (1709 Corbin Road, Hammond, 985-318-0723) released its new flagship IPA, Jucifer, during American Craft Beer Week in May, and six-packs of cans have arrived in stores.

The Hammond brewery will have a release party for its rare Peanut Butter Korova on June 3. This batch will be the first batch available in four-can packs.

• Urban South Brewing (1645 Tchoupitoulas St., 504-267-4852) has cans of Grapefruit Holy Roller — not available outside of the brewery — and the second batch of Modillion, a double-dry hopped pale ale.
