Block Party at Fort George Brewery
    8.11.17 THROUGH 8.13.17 (ALL WEEKEND)
    Fort George Brewery
    1483 Duane St
    Astoria, OR 97103
    11 am
    www.facebook.com/events/133347400584267/
Since 1894, The Astoria Regatta has celebrated the entire Lower Columbia area and the river that flows through it. It is the longest running celebration in Oregon’s oldest city, and right at the center is Fort George Brewery. Set course for 14th & Duane in the heart of downtown Astoria for a bountiful weekend of provisions and entertainment.
    Friday, August 11th
Get the gang back together and plot your plan of attack for an outdoor showing of Fantastic Mr. Fox at dark (approximately 9:15pm in the Fort George courtyard).
Food & beverages can be purchased through the pub and all ages are welcome. Bring your own chairs and blankets if you like or seating is available. No tickets are required, never a cover.
    Saturday, August 12th
Secure a prime location for the Grand Land Parade at noon, best viewed in the courtyard with a pint of Fort George beer in hand. Feel free to bring your chairs from home. The pub opens at 11am with food & beverages available for courtyard seating.
Live music launches at 4pm in the courtyard, building to Giants In The Trees at 8pm. A mammoth pop-rock quartet inspired by the environment and culture of the Lower Columbia River, Giants in the Trees features musicians Jillian Raye, Erik Friend, Ray Prestegard, and Krist Novoselic.
Fireworks over the Columbia River cap the night, with great views from the east end of the upstairs pizzeria.
    Sunday, August 13th
Browse the Sunday Market in downtown Astoria, play some corn hole in the courtyard, then stick around for even more live music at Fort George. Extended Sunday night music is from 4pm to 10pm and al fresco for the weekend, so you can feel that rhythm in the marine air.

    22nd Annual McMenamins Lighthouse Brewfest
    8.12.17
    Lighthouse Brewpub
    4157 N. Highway 101,
    Lincoln City, OR, 97367
    All Day
It’s a party at the coast! At this summertime, near-the-beach, bring-your-sunblock brewfest, McMenamins & Guest Brewers alike create their own distinct craft beer style while the Lighthouse serves up delicious food specials and brewery tours all day long.
As part of the annual tradition, the brewfest kicks off weeks earlier with the “Vallancing Act” (named for former Lighthouse Brewer Rob Vallance) during which each participating McMenamins Brewer picks a number. Then beer styles are pulled from a Portland Timbers hat to correspond to that number. The brewers are then required to brew an original recipe in that style.
Each participating brewery is also asked to submit a tiny image to represent their particular brew. This collection of “Tiny Brewer Art,” always amusing if not befuddling, is displayed in the festival booklet provided to patrons, along with descriptions of the beers. McMenamins also unveils a new Mighty Beer Atom each year – a mighty beer atom is our in-house graphic symbol or totem, produced by McMenamins staff in varying positions, that represents the creative spirit and energy of brewers and brewing. That is what it started out as and what it remains today.
