    December 14: Green Skies IPA
This week at Widmer Brothers, we’re tapping Green Skies IPA (7.0% ABV, 78 IBU), a hoppy and unfiltered American IPA showcasing bright and fruity hops. We packed this beer with Idaho 7, Bru-1, Citra, and Summit hops to give it a tropical and citrus fruit flavor and aroma, with notes of pear and pineapple. We also added a small amount of Columbus hops to round out the pallet with some deeper bass notes. The strong hop profile is countered by a mild grain bill—just enough to balance out the huge amount of hops. This week’s forecast calls for Green Skies! Prost!

Bad Santa Presents & Beer with Pelican Brewing
    Dec. 14th
    Fifth Street Growlers
    215 SW 5th St
    Corvallis OR 97333
    6 pm
    To All, Naughty & Nice,
This week Pelican Brewing Company is joining us for event featuring the most Bad of Santas. In the spirit of the season, we will be hosting a white elephant gift exchange! The only rule is that the gift has to be bad. I’m not talking about a $10-gift-card-for-a-Chili’s-Express bad, I’m talking about plastic-shrimp-deveiner-from-1985 bad.
While our gift exchange will be terrible, Pelican will not! Ralph is bringing swag that you can win, as is tradition. We will be drinking:
Bad Santa – This Black IPA/Cascadian Dark Ale always represents Christmas beer to me. A perfect blend of roasty and hoppy .
Mother of All Storms – This English Barleywine spends 1 year in Kentucky Bourbon Barrels. This nasty lady comes in at a whopping 14% ABV. This is one of the best beers produced in Oregon every year.
Abuela’s Casita – Mexican Chocolate Stout. Cocoa and Cinnamon go fantastic in an american stout.
Pelican Noir – Belgian Strong Dark Ale. Deep, reddish brown in color, Pelican Noir offers up an enticing aroma of currants, caramel and raisins.
BA Dunka Dunkle – A dark German lager. I don’t know much about this beer yet but I’m told it’s delicious and fairly uncommon.
We hope to see you all out this week! This will be our last event of the year so come out, bring a bad gift, dress up in ugly Christmas sweaters, and kick off the holidays with us!

    Agrarian Ales
    31115 W Crossroads Ln
    Eugene OR 97408

Field Bier defines our sense of place out in the countryside doing what we do. From our farmhouse brewery to our field-to-table kitchen to our hop and vegetable farm, we are all farmhands turning the cogs of this unforgettable experience. Intentionally created as a simple, defining beer for inspiring reflection after a day of working in the field, Field Bier is: organic Belgian pilsner malt, French saison yeast, Agrarian nugget hops and fresh well water.
We will have the original version of Field Bier in the flight as well as a Bourbon Barrel version of it called “Oak in the Field” that is still light and crisp with a subtle influence of the Bourbon Barrel throughout it.
For the third selection on the flight, we will be taking the original Field Bier and making a Cask out of one of our estate Hubbard Squashes, which will add unique squash-like flavors throughout. Truly a Straight-out-of-the-Field experience!
Keep an eye out for the release of our Field Bier in Bottles at Stores near you, as well as at our brewery!

Longest Night of the Year 2017
This delicious Barleywine went into Hogshead Whiskey barrels last year, and those barrels have sat undisturbed ever since. This beer, already a formidable ale in its own right, has in that full year matured into a flavorful, complex behemoth and a true example of a classic, barrel-aged English Barleywine. It offers flavors of toffee, caramel, and a warming alcohol character that’s been rounded and accentuated by notes of raisin, vanilla, and oak from its year of aging.
